PROVINCES,(ST)_ Status of 154 gunmen has been regularized, after they surrendered their weapons to the competent authorities in Hama and Damascus Countryside, and vowed not to do any action affecting the security of the homeland.
Hama governor Dr. Ghassan Khalaf stressed during a meeting with the 138 surrendered persons, yesterday that the country needs the efforts of all its citizens to defend it against terrorism and rebuild it back better than it was before the crisis.
On October 19th, conditions of 64 gunmen were regularized in Hama after they had surrendered with their weapons to the competent authorities in the governorate.
Meantime, other 16 wanted gunmen in Rural Damascus, who were involved in current events surrendered to competent authorities from Kafir Yaboos and Jdedit Yaboos towns, and their status was regularized.
This was done at the endeavors of reconciliation committees in the area after the gunmen pledged not to undertake any action that would prejudice the safety and security of the country.
At the beginning of this November, some 102 gun men from Zabadani who were involved in current events surrendered themselves to the competent authorities, and their status was regularized , bringing the number of surrendering gunmen to 118 gents in less than a week.
