Monastery of St. Jacob Distributes Nutritional and Medical Aid in Raqqa Countryside

ALEPPO– Monastery of St. Jacob distributed on Friday nutritional and medical aid to 37 villages and residential centers in Debsi Afnan area in Raqqa western countryside.

Project manager Issa Isper told SANA that this campaign aims at assisting  the families who came back to the area after it had been cleansed from terrorism and at providing the people’s needs.

 Isper said that the aid included 2,500 nutritional and medical portions and 5,000 bread packages, SANA reported.

The project manager added that a medical team from the association provided medical checkups for more than 400 patients and provided them with medicine and distributed about 2,000 first aid baskets and sterilizers.

For their part, the returning locals expressed happiness to be back to their homes, urging others to follow suit since their villages are now safe. They also called on the authorities to repair the irrigation channels so they can plant and water their crops, in addition to calling for reactivating medical centers and improving services in their areas.
