Moallem : Continued Regional , International Intervention in Syrian Affairs Hampers Political Solution , Increases Terrorism

SOCHI,(ST)_ Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem stressed that Syria  is committed to inter-Syrian  political solution among the  Syrians away from any external interference  and believes that the problem lies in the  conspiracy carried out by Syria’s neighbors, especially Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and other countries outside the region.

In an interview with the  Russian channel “RT” yesterday, Moallem indicated  that regional and international interventions impede a political solution and increase the violence of terrorism, practiced on the Syrians,  noting that Russia found that the dialogue format between the Syrians themselves is  more  feasible than what was done  in Geneva and  holding an inter- Syrian dialogue  in Moscow stems from  Russian ideas.

He pointed out that it is difficult to talk about a timetable for a solution as long as terrorism hits in Syria,  continued   external intervention represented by Washington  alliance and continued flow of terrorists ,  indicating that an agenda  of topics to be discussed  in the dialogue can be placed,  foremost of the fight against terrorism.

Moallem stressed that Syria agreed de Mistura initiative on the ground of  its desire as government and leadership  to stop  bloodshed, although the military situation in Aleppo is in favor of the Syrian army , pointing out that  every Syrian city is run   by the  central authority  of the  Syrian government through  its civil institutions.

On the  blurry coalition in the fight against terrorism and its intentions , Moallem said “we doubt US intentions , since if the US has been  sincere in  fighting terrorism it would have   resorted  to the UN Security Council to mandate it on that,  and not  to exclude important countries in the region such as Syria, which is fighting Daesh on the ground and in the air , nor  Iran and Russia .

He pointed out  that one who  believes that air strikes will eliminate  Daesh terrorist organization is mistaken, for the simple reason that Turkey , the US alley,  is not committed to the implementation of Security Council resolutions on counter-terrorism  and to drain its resources, considering  that  training terrorists in Turkey is a recipe for prolonging the crisis in Syria and for shedding more Syrian blood .

He  explained that there are Israeli ambitions in the establishment of a buffer zone in Quneitra and Daraa  by al-Nusra front terrorists, similar  to what Israel had done  in southern Lebanon, assisted by terrorists flow across the border with Jordan.

On the  reflection of   Iran  understanding with the West over its nuclear program on the crisis in Syria , Moallem indicated  that Iran , an ally of Syria,  has   realized its  interests and have a political decision to reach an agreement with a group of five plus one, and this agreement will be undoubtedly  reflected positively on the situation in Syria , because  it serves the interests of the  friendly people of Iran.
