Miqdad: We appreciate the supportive stances of Mauritania in the face of the terrorist war

On June 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held a farewell party for the Ambassador of the Republic of Mauritania in Damascus , Ely Ould Ahmedou, on the occasion of the end of his duties as his country’s ambassador to Syria at the DamaRose Hotel in Damascus.

During the ceremony, Ambassador OuldAhmedou was awarded the Syrian Order of Merit of the Excellent Class, in recognition of the stances of his country, Mauritania, and in appreciation of his noble person.

 

In a speech during the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates  Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad pointed out the distinguished brotherly relations that link the two brotherly countries.

Al-Miqdad underscored the honorable and supportive positions of Mauritania in relation to Syria in the face of the terrorist war which is supported by some western and regional countries.

Al-Miqdad appreciated the efforts made by the Mauritanian ambassador over the past years to boost and cement the Syrian-Mauritanian bilateral relations.

For his part, the Mauritanian Ambassador expressed his deep thanks and  gratitude to President Bashar Al-Assad for the honor of being presented with this medal on the occasion of the end of his missions in Syria.

Ambassador Ould Ahmedou indicated that he followed throughout his work as ambassador of his country in Damascus the regional and international repercussions of the global war on Syria.

Ambassador Ould Ahmedou worked with great effort to  enhance communication between the two countries, where 8 legal documents were signed including agreements and memoranda of understanding to develop bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.

The ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors and the diplomatic corps accredited in Damascus and directors of the Arab World Administration and Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
