DAMASCUS, (ST) _ The Revolutionary Youth Union (RYU) held yesterday a political meeting at al- Assad Library in Damascus with Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad, during which he stressed that youths are Syria’s most important of energies on which hope is pinned for a bright future and victory over its enemies, stressing that the Syrian young generation, “is an integral part of Syria’s battle to confront terrorism.”
On the situation in the region and the world, Miqdad said that what “was called by the US as “Arab Spring “was from the beginning a disaster and destruction to the entire Arab nation,” stressing that the US does not have an independent policy, “but an Israeli policy, the US is implementing in the region. “
On the US allegations on that its policy is based on international legitimacy and charters Miqdad noted that the US and European countries care only for their interests and prior agendas.
Miqdad noted evidenced documents showing that the scheme to divide the region began a long time ago with “a meeting in one of Iraq’s cities in 2007 between the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood groups and the Israeli Mossad and the CIA in order to agree on a plan to hand over power to Muslim brotherhood in several Arab countries. “
He talked about the general situation in the Arab countries, especially in Libya, noting that “the Libyan people are paying for the results of the disastrous war mounted on Libya, where terrorism and internal strife erupted between Libyan clans and tribes and Libya became a failed state.”
On the Syrian-Egyptian relations, Miqdad pointed “coordination in certain cases with Egypt, but there is no coordination at the political level” and that Egypt cannot “succeed in isolation from its strategic ally, namely the Syrian state.”
Miqdad stressed that the main enemy of both Syria and Egypt is “Daesh “terrorist organization expressing Syria’s appreciation for the sincere efforts made by several Egyptian national parties to restore relations between the two countries as were before.
He spoke about Syria’s efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis, noting interventions and barriers that have been and are still carried out by Turkey and the Gulf sheikhdoms, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia to block access to the solution noting that ” Moscow recent consultative meeting succeeded to some extent in breaking the ice between the Syrian government and the so-called “opposition”, when Russia achieved what the Europeans had failed to achieve.”
In response to a question by RYU member, Miqdad warned against “attempts by Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar at international forums for the rehabilitation of al-Qaeda affiliated “al-Nusra Front” and to differentiate between it and “Daesh “terrorist “organization.
