Miqdad: Terrorism in Syria Disappears When Neighboring Countries and the West, Implement UNSC Resolutions

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad, discussed in a meeting yesterday with Democratic People republic of Korea DPRK Deputy Foreign Minister Sen Hong Chul and members of the accompanying delegation ,bilateral relations and ways of developing them in all fields.

He highlighted the importance of this visit as reflecting DPRK support for Syria’s leadership and people, under circumstances, while facing the terrorist war.

Miqdad stressed Syria’s support for DPRK against US plots, and Korea to defend itself, protect its national achievements and sovereignty and independence.

He said that any solution to the crisis in Syria must be based on the fight against terrorism, maintaining the unity of the Syrian land and people, inadmissibility of outside interference in its affairs and the solution in Syria to be internal and Syrian-led.

He pointed out that if the neighboring countries, especially Turkey and Jordan, as well as terrorism sponsors among western countries implement UN Security Council resolutions on combating terrorism, this will be sufficient to end the terror the Syrian people suffer from, in a short time.

For his part, Chul spoke about latest developments in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the efforts made by the DPRK people, under the leadership of leader Kim Jong-Un to build a prosperous nation and create the appropriate atmosphere for the reunification of the Korean peninsula.

He stressed DPRK leadership support for the Syrian leadership and people in their just cause to combat terrorism and to achieve stability and security, expressing confidence in the victory of the Syrian people against the fierce terrorist attack, targeting their own existence.

The meeting was attended by ministry Director of the Asia Department,and DPRK ambassador in Damascus.
