DAMASCUS, (ST) _ The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry held yesterday a farewell ceremony for the Indonesian Ambassador Wahib Abdul Jawad on the occasion of ending his duties as Indonesia extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Syria.
Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faisal Miqdad presented ambassador Abdul-Jawad, with a trophy, as an expression of the deep relations between the two countries.
In a speech during the ceremony Dr. Miqdad noted the efforts made by the Indonesian ambassador in promoting bilateral relations, especially under the difficult circumstances prevailing in Syria, stressing that these relations are ongoing and be an example for best relations between peoples and nations.
Dr. Miqdad pointed the deep cooperation and relations of mutual understanding between Syria and Indonesia and expressed hope that ambassador Abdul Jawad will keep people in his country informed with the reality of what is happening in Syria, stressing that Syria will recover and emerge from the crisis stronger than before.
For his part, the Indonesian ambassador expressed thanks and deep gratitude for Syria’s leadership and people, hoping that Syria will be recovering very soon.
The ceremony was attended by several ambassadors accredited in Damascus and ministry officials concerned.
