Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad discussed with his Iranian counterpart Hussein Amir Abdollahian the latest developments on issues of common interest regionally and internationally.
During a telephone conversation between them Miqdad and Abdullahian discussed the focused propaganda carried out by Western countries and (Israel) against Iran, whether by encouraging chaos within its territory, or making baseless accusations regarding the current events in Ukraine.
The two ministers noted the level of cooperation and regular consultation that exists between the two countries.
The two ministers stressed the importance of continuing to confront attempts to interfere in their internal affairs, coordinating their positions in various international forums, and the need to continue strengthening and developing strategic bilateral relations in various fields.
Minister al-Miqdad affirmed Syria’s support for Iran in the face of the conspiracy orchestrated by Western and Israeli circles against it, which aims to undermine Iran’s sovereignty and undermine its security and stability.
He pointed out that this organized campaign of lies and misinformation against Iran reminds us of the same campaign that targeted Syria during the past years.
The talks between the two sides also touched on Western allegations of the use of Iranian drones in Ukraine, where Minister Abdullahianconfirmed that these allegations are flimsy and baseless.
He said that these allegations are just new propaganda within the framework of the lies and misinformation campaign carried out by Western countries, to target Iran’s steadfastness and undermine its independent positions towards the region and the world.
In this context, Mikdad called on Western countries to halt their practices that aim to offend the Islamic Republic of Iran.
