Miqdad : Syria is Ready to Provide all Facilities to Resolve the Crisis in the Palestinian al-Yarmouk Camp

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr Faisal Miqdad today discussed with Ambassador Anwar Abdul Hadi Director of the Palestine Liberation Organization PLO Political Department latest developments in the Palestinian refugee camps and steps to implement the Palestinian people’s initiative to resolve the crisis in al-Yarmouk refugee camp, ensuring the return of the displaced people to their homes.

Miqdad renewed  Syria’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities for the success and implementation of the initiative, indicating that the government will provide all necessary workshops for repairing electricity, water, and phone networks and return all the services to Yarmouk refugee camp in preparation for the return of residents immediately after the implementation of the initiative, in parallel with continued distribution of foodstuffs and getting  patients for treatment outside the camp and students to pursue their studies.

Dr. Miqdad commended the unified position of the  PLO and the 14 Palestinian factions to implement the initiative provided for solving al- Yarmouk camp crisis.

For his part, Ambassador Abdul Hadi expressed appreciation for the Syrian government positions in providing all facilities to resolve the crisis in al- Yarmouk refugee camp and its commitment to refrain from involving the Palestinians in the crisis.

He reiterated the position of the Palestinian leadership concerning the crisis in Syria,in  its support for a political solution through dialogue among all Syrians and non-interference in the internal affairs of Syria.
