Miqdad: Palestinian Cause Syria Pivotal Issue

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad has  stressed that Syria considers the issue of the Palestinian as its cause and the Arab central cause and that sides conspiring against the Palestinian issue and Syria are the same.

Dr. Miqdad stressed during his meeting with the delegation representing the Palestinian resistance factions headed by Khaled Abdul-Majid Secretary-General of the Palestinian resistance factions in Syria, Syria’s  support to the Palestinian people in their heroic steadfastness against the Israeli war of genocide waged by  the Israeli occupation army.

He indicated the strategic stand announced by President Bashar al-Assad during the constitutional sworn, in terms of considering the Palestinian issue as the central issue for Syria and the Arab nation, based on principles and correlation between what is happening in both Syria and Palestine.

Miqdad considered that every martyr falls in Palestine is a Syrian martyr and that Syria does not only support the Palestinian people morally, but utilizing its capabilities to support the Palestinian cause, despite the difficulties it has been experiencing.

He denounced the fragility of the so-called Arab League, especially states controlling it,, as well as the UN Security Council towards position regarding the Zionist aggression on Gaza, despite the killing of hundreds of civilians and children and thousands of wounded.

For their  part, members of the delegation conveyed congratulations of the Palestinian resistance factions and people to Syria on the occasion of President al-Assad ‘s constitutional oath, expressing pride in the Syrian position concerning the central Palestinian issue, as was confirmed by President al-Assad during his inaugural speech.

Members of the  Palestinian delegation talked about developments on the Palestinian arena in the light of the continued Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people, stressing that this aggression did not only aim to the destruction of the Palestinian resistance and its weapons, but to destroy the culture of resistance among the Palestinian people, stressing that the aggression will fail to achieve its objectives, the same as the Zionist aggression on Lebanon failed in 2006.

They praised the efforts made by the Syrian government for the success of the agreement to resolve al- Yarmouk refugee camp problem, despite the attempts by the radical terrorist groups to abort it, stressing high appreciation for Syria’s efforts in continuing the delivery of humanitarian supplies to residents of the camp.

In remarks to reporters, Dr. Miqdad said that Syria will always support Gaza, while Arabs are busy conspiring against Syria, adding that the steadfastness of the people in Gaza against the Israeli aggression will reinforce the Syrian people to abrogate the conspiracy.

He pointed out that the struggle of the Palestinian people, especially in the current Gaza battle, proved steadfast Palestinian  people, demanding their rights and are able to defeat Israel, noting that the Zionist entity after this battle will not as before, hinting that the Israelis live with their Prime minister in basements and shelters since 15 days.

For his part, Abdul Majeed stressed that the victory of the resistance in Palestine is added to the victories of the resistance camp in the region, especially the victories of the Syrian Army against terrorism, noting that the conspiracy targeting Syria and Palestine is the same, and those behind this plot are the USA, Israel and their allies in the region.
