Miqdad: National Dialogue, the only way to Eliminate Syria Crisis

NEW YORK,(ST)_ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad  said that ” the Syrian government has always emphasized that a comprehensive national dialogue, led by Syria, without preconditions, is the primary way  to eliminate the crisis.”

In a statement before the Ministerial Meeting  of the Non-aligned Movement NAM in New York, Miqdad stressed Syria ‘s invitation  for the sides that openly support, finance and arm the terrorist groups especially  the Saudi regime, and Turkey and others to stop that.

The Syrian Deputy Minister of Foreign  Affairs and Expatriates  reiterated that Syria acceded the Convention  of the non-proliferation of chemical weapons  agreement on the ground of  its national decision  and will abide by all due obligations necessitated by this accession.

Miqdad expressed  appreciation for Iran ‘s   successful  leadership for NAM  and its efforts in enhancing NAM ‘s role  in today’s world  through defending  the rules of the international law and the principles of the UN charter, foremost  the principles  of sovereignty, equality of States , non-intervention in internal affairs and refraining  from  threats of using force .

Dr. Miqdad also underlined the  importance of establishing democracy in international relations away from the hegemony of the US and its Westerner allies.

Earlier, during his inaugural speech of NAM meeting in New York, on the sideline of the UN General Assembly meeting,  the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed the need to achieve a just global  peace , pointing out that the Statute  of NAM considers just peace, and honoring  laws and treaties established  by the UN security council and the UN as an integral  and important part of NAM ‘s system.
