New Delhi (ST): Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faisal Miqdad, called on Indian companies to invest in Syria, which is looking to the east for its reconstruction.
During a meeting with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Industry in the capital, New Delhi, Miqdad praised the strong and deep Syrian-Indian relations and the need to strengthen them in all fields, including the interests of the two friendly countries, referring to India’s supportive stances for Syria in international forums. He pointed out that Syria is looking to the east for its reconstruction in cooperation with friendly countries, including India.
Miqdad gave a presentation on the most important developments in the situation in Syria and the current developments, stressing that Syria’s victory over terrorism reduced the risk of its spread to other countries and regions.
In turn, Dr. Fadi Salti Al-Khalil, Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, spoke about investment opportunities in Syria and gave an explanation of Investment Law No. 18 issued in 2021 and the sectors that can be invested in such as electricity, renewable energy, infrastructure, medicines, fertilizers and fodder.
For his part, the Chairman of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Industry, Nalin Kohli, spoke about the importance of relations between the two countries and the necessity of cooperation and taking advantage of opportunities in them.
