Miqdad: Government Ordered aid Distribution to al-Yarmouk Refugee Camp

DAMASCUS, (ST) _ Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad, discussed yesterday with Director of the PLO Political Department, Anwar Abdul Hadi latest developments in the region in general and Syria and the Palestinian refugee camps in particular.

Miqdad stressed during his meeting with ambassador Abdul Hadi that in the framework of its policy to alleviate the suffering and pain of the Palestinian people, the Syrian government “gave instructions for immediate distribution of food aid to al-Yarmuk refugee camp and resolve any impediment to that process.”

For his part, Abdul Hadi pointed out that work is under way for the distribution of aid to al- Yarmouk refugee camp and that “will be in the coming days,” he said, adding, “we also seek to resolve the entire crisis through evacuating the camp from weapons and militants and the return of its citizens back to it.

Noteworthy,  food baskets distributed by the Palestinian Refugees General Authority, and UNRWA, with the support of the Syrian government to residents in the camp, over the past year,  exceeded 55, 000 food baskets and 11,000 hygiene ones.
