Miqati expresses his thanks to Syria and Jordan for their cooperation in supplying Lebanon with electricity


BST) –  Lebanese Prime Minister NajeebMiqatiexpressed today his thanks to Syria and Jordan for their cooperation in supplying Lebanon with electricity by signing the electrical networking agreement.

“We thank Syria and Jordan for their cooperation in completing this vital project for Lebanon, which helps in resolving the country’s electricity crisis,” the Lebanese National News Agency quoted Mikati as saying during his reception at the Government House, theMinister of Electricity Ghassan Al-Zamil and Jordanian Minister of Energy, Saleh Al-Kharabsheh.

 Miqati said that, “in the difficult times that Lebanon is going through, this step comes as a practical contribution in resolving our crises.

We also look forward to completing  the necessary steps to extract gas from Egypt as soon as possible, he added

Earlier today, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan signed an electrical linkage agreement from Jordan through Syria to Lebanon.
