Damascus (ST): The Ministry of Transport on Monday announced the return of Damascus International Airport to service and the resumption of flights, as of nine o’clock this morning.
The ministry stated on its official Facebook page that its cadres, in cooperation with the concerned authorities and institutions, removed the damage caused by the Israeli aggression since this dawn hours and started repairs, and put the airport into service while continuing repair operations in other damaged sites.
The Ministry called on national carriers to arrange their flight schedules through the airport, starting today at nine in the morning, and to serve passengers as usual.
Damascus International Airport was out of service as a result of an Israeli air attack that targeted it and its surroundings with barrages of missiles from the direction of the northeastern Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberias) at around 2:00 a.m. today, and resulted in the martyrdom of two soldiers, the wounding of others, and the occurrence of some material losses.
