Within the framework of joint cooperation to preserve heritage professions and transfer knowledge to younger generations, the Ministry of Tourism announced on Tuesday its desire to carry out free training and qualification courses on heritage professions, in cooperation with the General Union of Craftsmen and the Federation of Tourism Chambers.
The Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that the training courses, which will be held by creative craftsmen, will take place during the coming months of July and August at Central Incubator for Syrian Traditional arts CISTA in Dummar in Damascus.
The training courses will include the traditional professions of Aghabani , Brocade , Arabic calligraphy, mosaic, engraving on copper, leather, and Syrian folkloric clothing.
The statement noted that at the conclusion of the course the trainee will be given a training certificate by the Ministry of Tourism and the General Union of Craftsmen.
