Ministry of Tourism and Authority for Excellence and Creativity launch the Syrian Youth Tourism Forum 2023

The Ministry of Tourism and the Authority for Excellence and Creativity launched, during a press conference today, the “Syrian Youth Tourism Forum 2023”.

The forum aims to be the new dimension for sustainable tourism viewed through the  eyes of young people, ready for the future and capable of development and excellence, seeing beyond places and discovering what is behind traditional tourism – to be the mini version of the first World Youth Tourism Summit 2022, which was held in Italy, with the participation of a delegation of Syrian youth.

It is scheduled that the work of the forum will start in the first half of next September, and it will focus on highlighting Syria’s cultural, historical, natural and tourism treasures and development projects associated with them. It will be accompanied with  a youth dialogue on exploring these projects  and methods of marketing and protecting them through modern, developmental and sustainable tourism concepts that stimulate the local community and preserve the environment.

The forum includes lectures, dialogue sessions, and specialized workshops, from which participants acquire new skills and knowledge, in addition to carrying out visits and field tours to archaeological and tourist sites and related development projects.

The forum targets 50 to 70 participants, both male and female, whose ages range from 15 to 18 years. Nominations can be from schools, associations, organizations, or directly from individuals. For the selection of participants, it is required that each participant represents himself and not his governorate or institution, and they are chosen by commission according to specific conditions.
