Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to enhance cooperation with the Office of the UN Special Envoy in Syria

Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Muhammad Saif Al-Din discussed on Wednesday with the Head of the office of the United Nations Special Envoy in Syria Mona Rishmawi the means of enhancing cooperation in the field of non-governmental and international organizations.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to the laws and legislations that the Ministry is working on were discussed, with the aim of increasing the number of beneficiaries of the services provided by non-governmental organizations.

Minister Saif Al-Din affirmed that the Ministry is constantly seeking to strengthen the efforts being exerted in cooperation with the civil society to reach the groups of people who need help in society and to support and empower them, especially in the light of the repurcussions of the unilateral economic measures and sanctions imposed on the Syrian people.

For her part, Rishmawi explained the importance of cooperation and coordination between the office and the ministry in order to support the most needy groups in Syria, and to further enhance the services that are provided to them.
