Ministry of Islamic Trusts: Suspending prayer (for funerals) in the mosques of Damascus and its countryside until further notice
On July 26, the Ministry of Islamic Trust announced the suspension of prayers “for funerals” in the mosques of Damascus and its countryside until further notice, in the context of precautionary measures to tackle the spread of the Coronavirus.
The Ministry stated that the dead person’s family members are only allow to do the ‘funeral prayer’ in the graveyard.
The Ministry called on the Directorates of Islamic Trusts in Damascus and Damascus Countryside to coordinate with the burial offices in the two governorates to ensure full compliance with the instructions in the interest of public safety.
On July 22, the Ministry announced the suspension of the blessed Eid Al-Adha prayers in the Governorates of Damascus and Damascus Countryside , due to the spread of the Corona epidemic.
