Ministry of Information condemns systematic attacks carried out by remnants of former regime against journalists in Syrian coastal region

The Ministry of Information condemns in the strongest terms the systematic attacks recently carried out by the remnants of the defunct regime against journalists and media professionals in the Syrian coastal region.

These attacks constitute a crime against press freedom and a blatant violation of international conventions and norms that guarantee journalists’ right to perform their duties safely. They also reinforce a persistent policy of silencing voices and suppressing truthful reporting, posing a serious threat to the public’s right to access accurate information.

In coordination with the relevant authorities, the ministry affirms its commitment to monitoring all violations and complaints submitted to it and will take all necessary legal and administrative measures to ensure press freedom and the protection of journalists from any threats or harassment.
