Institutions and companies affiliated to the Ministry of industry during the year 2023 achieved net profits of about 250 billion Syrian pounds, while the value of their sales reached 2772 billion Syrian pounds with an implementation rate of 67%.
The Ministry’s institutions and subsidiaries produced some SYP. 2,928 billion at 73% percent of the planned production value at the beginning of the year, while the inventory value is approximately SYP. 432 billion, achieving the implementation rate of the investment plan 98% out of the appropriations amounting to SYP. 96.760 billion, bringing the actual expenditure to SYP. 94.460 billion.
At The Institutional level:
The General Establishment for Textile Industries:
The ministry estimated the net profit of the General Organization for textile industries at 63 billion liras with an actual production estimated at SYP. 428 billion with an implementation rate of 51 percent of the planned value. It achieved sales of SYP.311 billion, an increase in stores of SYP. 297 billion, while it spent 6,765,969 Syrian pounds on its investment plan.
General Organization for the Manufacture of Cement and Building Materials:
As for the General Organization for the cement and building materials industry, net profit was estimated at SYP. 48 billion, production at SYP. 1039 billion with an implementation rate of 87%, while sales reached SYP. 1083 billion with an implementation rate of 91% of the planned value, with an increase in the organization’s warehouses by SYP. 48 billion, and its entire investment plan was implemented with credits of more than SYP. 25 billion.
General Organization of Chemical Industries:
The General Organization for Chemical Industries recorded a net profit of 15 billion Syrian pounds, sales of 115 billion Syrian pounds with a 93% implementation rate, production of 102 billion Syrian pounds with an 82% implementation rate, while it implemented 87% of its investment plan with a spending value of SYP. 2.165 billion.
General Foundation for Food Industries:
The State Corporation for Food Industries estimated its net profit at SYP. 38 billion and sales at SYP. 329 billion at 80% implementation and an increase in inventory of SYP. 6 billion and production of 339 billion Syrian pounds at 99% implementation of its investment plan, or SYP. 13.736 billion.
General Organization for Cotton Ginning and Marketing:
The General Organization for Cotton Ginning and Marketing recorded profits of 276 million Syrian pounds, sales of 65 billion Syrian pounds with a 14% implementation rate of the planned value, an increase in inventory of 5 billion Syrian pounds, production of 53 billion Syrian pounds with a 15% implementation rate of the planned value, while it spent SYP. 735 million on its investment plan with a 95% implementation rate.
General Organization for Engineering Industries:
The General Organization for Engineering Industries recorded an estimated net profit of 65 billion Syrian pounds, sales of 403 billion Syrian pounds, production of about 462 billion Syrian pounds, while it implemented 99 percent of its investment plan worth SYP. 35.877 billion.
General Tobacco Corporation:
The general tobacco organization estimated its net profit at 19.5 billion Syrian pounds and its sales at 433 billion Syrian pounds with an implementation rate of 117% and achieved an increase in the organization’s warehouses by SYP. 20 billion and the production value of 481 billion Syrian pounds with an implementation rate of 130% of the planned value, while spending on its fully implemented investment plan reached 5,725,000 Syrian pounds.
In the field of corporate qualification:
An integrated plan for the rehabilitation of Damascus Dairy Company prepared following the Economic Commission’s recommendation to allocate 6 billion Syrian pounds for rehabilitation.
Preparation of an economic feasibility study for the rehabilitation of the General Company for Detergents and Chemical Industries” SAR ” through the rehabilitation of sulfonic acid production departments with a production capacity of 10,000 tons per year.
Follow-up the implementation of contracts concluded with the private sector to rehabilitate and operate the discontinued companies, namely Arabian cement industry, Maskana Sugar, Raqqa Sugar and Shaba Yeast within the time limits set for them.
At the level of the private and artisanal industrial sector until the end of the third quarter of this year:
The number of private industrial enterprises that entered production reached 432.
The number of industrial enterprises covered by the investment law amounted to 4 enterprises, and the industrial projects implemented in industrial cities amounted to 37 projects.
114 industrial projects are under implementation in industrial cities.
Implementation of 92 craft facilities.
Regarding the implementation of the administrative reform project of the ministry and its subordinate bodies.
Redistribution of labor, especially in stalled, distressed or destroyed enterprises. The conditions of 650 workers were addressed through their redistribution to companies and industrial institutions affiliated to them or to other public authorities within the governorates (Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, rural Damascus), in order to ensure the rights of workers and the optimal investment of these resources.
Start studying the merger of some companies and affiliated institutions, which are as follows:
Merging the General Organization for Internal Trade of Minerals and Building Materials “Al-Omran” with the General Organization for Cement and Building Materials, the General Organization for Sugar with the General Organization for Food Industries, the General Organization for Cotton Ginning and Marketing with the General Organization for Textile Industries, and the General Organization for Chemical Industries with the General Organization for Engineering Industries.
In the field of vocational training:
Two memorandums of Understanding were signed with Noon Educational Foundation and with the National Welfare Foundation, in order to cooperate in the field of vocational training.
The Management and Productivity Development Center was implemented until the third quarter, 23 training courses with an 80% implementation rate, including three courses in the field of quality, computer, technical, specialized and administrative courses to raise the level of employees and improve performance in institutions and public entities.
Various training courses were implemented inside and outside the general plan of the center dealing with the segments of public sector employees to raise the efficiency of workers and improve performance.
Following up the contracting procedures with the Syrian Information Technology Company to implement the project of completing the “third phase ” networking to automate the work of the ministry and complete the optical link between the entities affiliated to the Ministry of industry with the directorates of industry in the provinces.
Completion of studies to rehabilitate the network infrastructure of some entities, accounting treatment of the files of destroyed companies and providing the Central Financial Supervisory Authority with a copy of these minutes of the 44 companies.
Participation of Public industrial institutions and companies in all specialized exhibitions.
Listing the products of public sector industrial companies on the Syrian exporter encyclopedia platform in order to promote products and export to new markets.
With regard to the work of the Centers and bodies affiliated to the ministry:
Industrial Testing and Research Center:
The final appropriations in the center’s investment plan amounted to 200,354 thousand Syrian pounds, and an amount of 859,339 thousand pounds was spent with a 96% implementation rate.
The number of samples tested at the center is more than 2400.
The number of completed tests is about 5000 tests in various sectors
(textile, chemical, engineering, food).
The completion of the study of the Photovoltaic Systems Laboratory, which allows the possibility of conducting tests for solar energy installations from panels, savings, inverters and charging regulators according to international specifications.
Syrian Arab standards organization:
The number of specifications granted during the current year is 112 draft specifications, distributed to products in all sectors.
Issuing 24 certificates of conformity, of which 21 certificates were given to Lebanon, 1 to Yemen and 1 to Saudi Arabia.
