Ministry of Industry: Al-Waleed Spinning Company in Homs produces pure polyester thread with high quality

Damascus, (ST) – With local expertise, the production and technical staff at Al-Waleed Spinning Company in Homs was able to produce a synthetic thread made of pure polyester with excellent specifications of tensile strength, durability, dyeability in various colors, and other specifications that make it competitive to its imported one.

The Ministry of Industry pointed out in a statement, that the work on producing this thread came in the light of the need of the local market and its importance in sewing and manufacturing ready-made garments, and in the light of  the unavailability of this thread locally and the difficulty of importing it due to the unjust economic blockade imposed on Syria.

The statement noted that this achievement came in line with the vision and direction of the ministry to meet the requirements of the companies affiliated with the General Organization for Textile Industries and the local market.

The Ministry explained that the local market needs were assessed and it was found that there is a demand for this kind of thread of specific sizes by both the public and private sectors, made of 100% pure polyester, which is not manufactured in the local market, but is imported.

The ministry quoted the General Manager of Al Waleed Spinning Company, Eng. Ali Shanter as saying: “Producing this type of thread achieves economic returns that benefit the public sector”.
