Ministry of Health: The number of infections with the Coronavirus in Syria has increased to five

Damascus, (ST) – The Ministry of Health announced a new infection with Coronavirus today to raise the total number to five.

The ministry said in a statement to SANA that the infected person had arrived from abroad several days ago and had been quarantined directly.His test results today proved positive for Coronavirus .

The Ministry of Health announced earlier today  recording three new infections of Coronavirus in Syria.

In a statement to SANA, the Ministry of Health indicated that the three cases are from the group that had been put in al-Dweir center for quarantine last week.

The Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Khelifaoui stressed that the infected people will remain in the quarantine center until laboratory analyzes give negative results.

Khelifaoui emphasized that the ministry has increased its procedures according to the development of the facts and  has expanded  the centers of medical isolation according to the capabilities to enhance its response in dealing with the coronavirus and controlling its spread.

On March 22nd, the Ministry announced that the first case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) was registered in Syria to a woman who had come from abroad and that all necessary measures have been taken to deal with this case.
