Ministry of Health discusses with Médecins Sans Frontières MSF ways to enhance mutual cooperation
The Minister of Health, Dr. Musab Al-Ali, met with a delegation from Médecins Sans Frontières MSF (Doctors Without Borders) to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of humanitarian and medical assistance.
During the meeting, which was held today at the ministry’s headquarters, the delegation reviewed its activities in Syria following the liberation, which included setting up burn treatment units in five governorates, as well as primary healthcare centers and emergency response services.
Participants in the meeting emphasized the need to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria, as they significantly impact the health sector and the development of infrastructure.
For his part, Dr. Al-Ali highlighted the importance of coordination between the ministry and the organization to provide health services optimally, and to work on enhancing the capabilities of health personnel through training and rehabilitation, while directing needs and assistance according to the most affected areas.
Dr. Al-Ali praised the efforts made by the organization across various governorates through emergency response to critical situations and addressing needs and supplies.
