Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Any US opinions or statements will not affect the work of the Constitution Discussion Committee and the nature of its dialogue

The statement issued by the US Department of State on the sessions of the Constitution Discussion Committee held in Geneva once again categorically reaffirms the US attempts to interfere in the affairs of states and impose its own agendas, most recently by interfering in the work of the committee, an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said today.

Syria also asserted that any views from the United States or others have no value and will not affect the work of the Committee and the nature of its dialogues, form and content.

The Syrian Government affirms that this dialogue is Syrian and that no one has the right to interfere or support any party under any pretext, the source added, pointing out that the role of the United Nations which  is represented by its Special Envoy Geir Pederson is limited to studying the Committee’s discussions and facilitating its affairs.
