Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates: Israeli recurrent attacks on civilian facilities in Syria are a war crime

 

Damascus, (ST) –  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that the repeated Israeli attacks, especially the systematic and deliberate targeting of civilian facilities in Syria, is a war crime. It added that the Israeli occupation authorities, with this dangerous escalation, threaten once again peace and security in the region.

The Foreign Ministry said in a tweet via its Twitter account that the repeated Israeli attacks, especially the systematic and deliberate targeting of civilian facilities in Syria, the latest of which was the targeting of Aleppo International Airport yesterday, is a crime of aggression and a war crime in accordance with the international law, and that (Israel) should be held accountable for it.

The Foreign Ministry also said that the Israeli occupation authorities, with this dangerous escalation, threaten once again peace and security in the region, endanger and terrorize civilians’ lives, and threaten the safety of civil aviation in Syria and the region.

The Foreign Ministry pointed out that Syria will exercise its legitimate right to defend its land and people by all necessary means and to ensure accountability of the Israeli occupation authorities for these crimes.
