Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates awards the Syrian Order of Merit of the Excellent Class to Lebanon’s ambassador to Syria

Damascus, (ST) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held a farewell party for the Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon in Damascus, Saad Zakhia, on the occasion of the end of his duties as the country’s ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus.

During the ceremony, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, awarded Ambassador Zakhia the Syrian Order of Merit of the Excellent Class, in appreciation of his good efforts in enhancing relations between the two brotherly countries.

 Al-Jaafari stressed the depth of the brotherly relations between the two countries and the two peoples. He pointed out that the two countries are twins, and no party can separate them. 

Al-Jaafari referred to Zakhia’s efforts in serving the interests of the two countries and his success in managing many files despite the difficult circumstances that Lebanon and the region are going through. He pointed out that his efforts deserve appreciation and attention, wishing him success.

In turn, Ambassador Zakhia expressed his thanks and gratitude for awarding him this medal. He considered it an incentive to pursue his effort to continue relations and activities in public affairs to reach the safety of the two peoples.

Ambassador Zakhia expressed his thanks to the Syrian government and people, the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the accredited diplomatic corps, the Syrian-Lebanese Supreme Council, and the Lebanese embassy staff for their cooperation with him to complete his duties as ambassador to his country –  wishing on the occasion of the Christmas and the New Year for Syria continued progress and prosperity.
