Ministry of Electricity Receives 5 Electricity Transformers

TARTOUS, (ST) -Ministry of Electricity received 5 Transformers arrived on Thursday to the port of Tartous. The 12 -contract transformers was purchsed with the People’s Republic of China.

The Director of the General Establishment for Electricity Transmission Eng. Nasouh Sumesmiya said in a statement to local press during delivery of the shipment that the capacity of each transform amounts to 125 megabytes volt-amp a “the greatest capacity absorbed by the network in Syria,”

noting that these transformers will supply a number of transfer stations in the provinces to help in securing the necessary expansion in the existing stations.

For his part, Director of Tartous Electricity Eng. Malek Maiteh that one of these transformers will be installed in Tartous to increase the efficiency of the electric system.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Electricity received last May four transformers within a plan to secure supplies of the electricity sector by signing several contracts with friendly countries.
