Ministry of Culture condemns the Israeli aggression against Syrian archaeological site that is part of the world cultural heritage

The Ministry of Culture condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted, at dawn on Sunday, some residential neighborhoods in the city of Damascus and its ancient castle, the Technical Institute for Archeology and Museums, and the Technical Institute for Applied Arts.

In a statement the Ministry of Culture condemned in the strongest terms the treacherous Israeli aggression that targeted an archaeological site that is part of the world cultural heritage, pointing out targeting cultural heritage sites is prohibited under international agreements, and accordingly this attack is a full-fledged crime.

In its statement, the Ministry of Culture called on the international community to condemn this brutal aggression, and to curb the authority of the aggressor who flouts the international law and international charters and treaties, calling on the international community and international organizations interested in cultural affairs, mainly UNESCO, to condemn this aggression and take necessary measures to hold the Israeli aggressors accountable.
