Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Mohamed Hassan Qatana and Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Sudan Abu Bakr Omar al-Bushrabvisited the model village in Qatret al-Rayhan and the Agricultural Research Centers in the al-Ghab area in the western countryside of Hama, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency.

In a statement to reporters Minister Qatana indicated that the Ministry of Agriculture launched in 2022 the model village project in Qatrat Al-Rayhan as a guide and experience for rural development in partnership with the local community.

Qatana pointed out that the village project was a model of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, the local community and banks, which have so far granted SYP 8 billion as short- and medium-term loans to establish a number of projects that have an economic and development return on the village and its people.

Minister Qatana stressed that the visit of the Sudanese Minister of Agriculture and Forestry comes within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation between Syria and Sudan, especially the exchange of agricultural products.

For his part, al-Bushra stressed the importance of his visit to these centers to benefit from the expertise and research experiments conducted by researchers and experts in research centers and bodies in Syria, transfer and apply their results in Sudan and exchange experiences between the two sides to produce high-quality and productive agricultural samples that are resistant to climate change, drought and pests.
