Homs, (ST) – Minister of Local Administration and Environment Eng. Louay Khreita and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Eng. Samar al-Sabai inspected yesterday the Joseh border crossing and shelters in the town of Rablah in Homs, where Lebanese families arrived after being displaced as a result of the Israeli aggression.
The two ministers, Homs Governor Eng. Namir Makhlouf and the police chief of the province followed up on the mechanisms of receiving arrivals through the crossing and the facilities and support provided to them by the Customs and Immigration Secretariat and the cadres of civil and international organizations and associations.
They also viewed the services provided in the two shelters in the town of Rablah, “in the Monastery of Mar Elias and the Monastery of the Virgin Mary,” where housing has been provided for the arriving families.
Following the tour, the two ministers chaired two separate meetings of the relief sub-committee and the civil society organizations in the governorate, where Minister Kharita stressed the need to provide all facilities and achieve fluidity in receiving incoming families, whether Lebanese or Syrians who were in Lebanon, starting from the moment they arrive from the crossing until securing shelter and housing for them.
Minister Kharita referred to the importance of combining all governmental and civil efforts to implement the Syrian directives supporting the brothers in various circumstances, and reviewing the measures taken during the meeting of the Supreme Relief Committee yesterday in this regard.
For her part, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor pointed out the need to unify all efforts in this exceptional circumstance that Lebanon is going through and to contain the incoming, stressing the true partnership between the ministry and all governmental and civil sectors and community initiatives.
In a statement to reporters, Minister Al-Sabai noted the joint efforts to provide the necessary support to the incoming. She referred to the maximum possible is being provided with the continuation of meetings and communication with humanitarian organizations to provide the associations with the necessary needs and meet the requirements of the incoming.
