Ministerial Committee meets DU professors

DAMASCUS, (ST) –  Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi denounced the cowardly terrorist act which claimed the life of scholar Dr. Mohammad Saeed Ramadan al-Bouti and a number of his students at al-Iman Mosque in Damascus, affirming that al-Bouti’s legacy will live on in people’s hearts.

Al-Halqi’s remarks came during the meeting between the ministerial committee tasked with implementing the political program for resolving the crisis in Syria with a delegation representing Damascus University  professors on Sunday.

“the Syrian people, government and army will continue to work hand-in-hand to achieve unity and national reconciliation in a bid to  rebuild a democratic Syria that meets the aspirations and hopes of all honest Syrians, ‘underscored al-Halqi.

He reviewed the committee’s efforts and meetings with various parties, forces and bodies, affirming that the committee is continuing its meetings and extends its hands to all Syrians to exchange ideas and suggestions to enrich dialogue and ensure its success.

For their part, the professors voiced their support for the political program for resolving the crisis, praising the government’s role in combating the economic war waged on Syria and its efforts to provide citizens’ livelihood and restore security and stability.

The Ministerial Committee includes:Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of Information, Justice, National Reconciliation, Transport, Industry, Red Crescent affairs and People’s Assembly affairs.
