Minister of Tourism Unveils Plans Shaping the New Future of Syrian Tourism

Minister of Tourism Mazen Al-Salhani stated to “Al-Hurriya” newspaper about the plans adopted by the Ministry of Tourism to attract both foreign and domestic tourism investments, starting with preparations for the upcoming tourism investment forum scheduled for the second half of May.

 

This is being coordinated with relevant state authorities, and attractive investment opportunities will be presented across various Syrian provinces to be showcased to investors during the forum.

Work is underway on the principle of the one-window services that will soon be launched at the Ministry of Tourism, allowing investors to obtain all approvals and licenses easily.

 

Legal Investment Guarantees

 

Al-Salhani confirmed that legal guarantees for investors will be activated to ensure their rights during the investment period associated with the Ministry of Tourism.

 

Investor Guide

 

The ministry is also working on creating an investor guide that includes an introduction to the laws and regulations governing tourism investment.

 

Equity in Exemptions and Facilitation

 

All investors in the tourism sector are treated equally, whether they are returning expatriates looking to reactivate their stalled projects or investors wishing to invest in Syrian territories and benefit from all the provided facilitation and exemptions.

 

Transparency as a Hallmark of the Upcoming Phase

 

Al-Salhani emphasized that in the upcoming phase, transparency will be prioritized concerning the tourism sector to ensure an increase in investments and tourism establishments in Syrian territories.
