Minister of Social Affairs and Labor discusses enhancing cooperation with UN High Commissioner for Refugees

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Muhammad Seif El-Din, discussed today with head of the UNHCR mission in Syria, Sivanka Dana Bala, areas of cooperation and ways to develop them and implement joint projects between the two sides.

The two sides stressed the need for continuous communication between the technical committees to overcome the difficulties facing the implementation of the existing joint projects in the various governorates. This in turn would have a positive impact on the most vulnerable groups in society and achieve sustainable development. The experimental project for cash assistance launched by the Ministry in cooperation with the Commission, which targets 2,500 families in the governorates of Aleppo, Latakia and Tartous, was also discussed.

Minister Seif El-Din stated that the ministry is ready to provide all the required facilities and support the Commission for the success of joint projects, which will be implemented in the future, in a way that eases the burdens on the targeted families as a result of the conditions of the terrorist war that Syria has been subjected to.

For his part, Head of Mission Bala underlined the importance of coordination between the various parties operating on the ground to reach the target groups, support them by various means, and implement the programs prepared in this field.
