Minister of Oil, Chinese Ambassador discuss boosting cooperation in field of oil

Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Firas Qaddour and the Chinese Ambassador to Syria Shi Hongwei on Monday discussed means of enhancing cooperation in the sector of oil and mineral resources.

Discussions focused on oil exploration, survey teams, and investment in mineral resources in Syria, with the aim of increasing production.

Qaddour affirmed the need to improve the infrastructure of the oil sector and implement development projects by taking advantage of modern technologies and Chinese expertise in this field, stressing the importance of the professional training programs that China provides to national cadres.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador voiced his country’s readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation in the mentioned domains, noting that the Chinese companies have the ability and experience necessary to contribute to achieving development in these vital industries.
