Minister of Islamic Trusts: Islamic unity is achieved by unifying efforts to confront extremism and terrorism
Minister of Islamic Trusts Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayed affirmed that Islamic unity can only be achieved through unifying the efforts of religious institutions in the world to confront extremism and terrorism from which Syria has suffered for ten years.
In his speech on May 8th before the Islamic Unity Conference currently being held in Abu Dhabi under the title of Islamic Unity (Concept, Opportunities and Challenges), Minister al-Sayyid said: “The unification of efforts and the relationship between Islamic countries should take place on the basis of respect for homelands and the values of citizenship.”
Minister al-Sayyid stressed the need to protect our youth from the clutches of extremists through a moderate and modern religious discourse.
Minister al-Sayyid said: “Islam cannot accept assaulting others and violators, killing them and making takfir upon them. It can only be under the flag of the homeland and the army of the homeland.”
In his speech, minister al-Sayyid expressed his thanks to the government and people of the United Arab Emirates for their pioneering stances towards Syria.
Minister al-Sayyid also thanked the great efforts made by the UAE Ministry of Tolerance.
