Minister of Industry: Holding Damascus International Fair Indicates Economic Recovery

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Ahmed Al-Hamo, Minister of Industry, said that the ministry’s companies and establishments will participate in the 59th session of Damascus International Fair, which will open on August 17. He considered that opening the Fair is a strong indication of Syrian economic recovery.

The Minister said in a recent statement to SANA that “the participation of the public and private industrial sectors in the fair indicates this sector’s steadfastness and determination to continue working despite all terrorism and destruction. He added that “the industrial sector presents its products in local markets with reasonable prices and Within the national standards and it searches for opportunities to export local goods.

 He  sees that “the return of the Damascus International Fair after a several- year stop means the return of life to the Syrian economy again, which requires  all capacities to launch the process of reconstruction and national industry again.”

Nibal Bakfaloni, the marketing director at the ministry, said the ministry has booked 500 square meters for the participation of its establishments and companies, pointing out that the ministry will display a number of equipments that will contribute to the process of reconstruction. In addition, she said, the Syrian-Iranian company for the manufacture cars (Siamco) will participate in the fair and display a number of cars.
