Minister Sabbagh hoped that the visit of the Iraqi delegation would establish a focal point for cooperation and to build partnerships between the two countries in the industrial and economic fields.
Minister Sabbagh said that the visit of the Iraqi delegation, which came after the years of war that affected the two countries, included many meetings and intensive meetings to lay the first building blocks for launching joint industrial work to exchange experiences and establish a joint industrial work in the coming days.
For his part, the Iraqi minister stressed the importance of the visit in setting the outlines for future cooperation between the two countries in the industrial and economic fields.
The Iraqi minister pointed to the role of the private sector in promoting the industrial sector in the two countries to enhance partnership and integration between them through exchanging experiences, training, management and marketing and working to form a joint industrial zone that can compete with the products of the region
The Iraqi minister said that this includes the possibility of cooperation, partnership, exchange of experiences and training, in addition to studying what can be provided to businessmen and industrialists from both parties in terms of facilitating entry visas to be presented to the Iraqi side of the concerned ministries, as well as issues of land transport and shipping between the two countries.
The Iraqi industrial delegation headed by Minister al-Khabbaz began his visit to Syria last Wednesday, during which the delegation conducted several meetings to discuss ways of industrial and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Iraqi delegation made several visits to many industrial facilities in Damascus and Aleppo to be briefed on the industrial development in Syria and ways to benefit from Syrian industrial expertise.
