Minister of Industry discusses with a delegation of a Chinese company investment opportunities in the industrial sector

Damascus (ST): The Minister of Industry Abdul Qadir Joukhadar and a delegation from the Chinese governmental “Shaanxi CIG International Construction Group”, which specializes in urban investment, on Sunday discussed opportunities for investment in the Syrian industrial sector, rehabilitating its destroyed facilities and developing the production capabilities of the existing companies.

Minister Joukhadar expressed the ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the Chinese company, pointing out that many industrial facilities in Syria enjoy high-quality equipment manufactured in the People’s Republic of China.

For their part, members of the delegation underlined the importance of economic cooperation, especially in the stage of reconstruction in Syria, and the importance of implementing visions and ideas and finding ways to put these projects into practice.

During the meeting, they discussed the revival of destroyed facilities, especially in the cement and glass industry and many other vital industries.

The two sides agreed to follow up the coordination through the field visits that the Chinese delegation will soon make, accompanied by a team from the Ministry of Industry, to the sites of cement and glass factories in order to study the situation of the companies that fall within the framework of the Chinese company’s work and to discuss the problems and find solution as to reach positive and practical results that contribute to the revival of these facilities.
