Minister of Health discusses with his counterparts in Geneva means of bilateral cooperation

Geneva, (ST)  –  On the sidelines of the plenary session of the 75th session of the World Health Assembly, the Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghubash, met with the UAE Minister of Health and Prevention Abdul Rahman Al-Owais and the Minister of Health in the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Saidi.

On the sidelines of the session, Minister Al-Ghabash met the Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Mai Al-Kila, and the Belarusian Minister of Health, Dmitri Benevitch.

 They discussed the current health conditions in the world and ways of bilateral cooperation between Syria and the Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, Palestine and Belarus to improve health services and enhance the health of citizens.

The work of the 75th session of the World Health Assembly started yesterday and will continue until the 28th of this month.

Syria participated in the 74th session of the World Health Assembly virtually in May of last year, when it was elected to the membership of the Executive Council of the World Health Organization representing the Eastern Mediterranean Region for a period of three years.

It is noteworthy that the World Health Assembly is the highest decision-making body in the World Health Organization and its main function is to define the organization’s policies, monitor its financial policies and approve budgetary issues. It is held once a year in Geneva, Switzerland.
