Minister of Health, Ambassador of South Africa discuss cooperation in the field of health

On September 4th, the Minister of Health Hassan Al -Ghabbash discussed with the Ambassador of South Africa in Damascus Barry Gilder and the accompanying delegation ways to enhance cooperation in the health field.

Dr. Al -Ghabbash emphasized the depth of relations between Syria and South Africa, appreciating South Africa’s support for Syria during the years of the terrorist war and the earthquake disaster, and hailed the country’s efforts to support Syrian stances in international forums.

Dr. Al -Ghabbash pointed out that the ministry, despite all the challenges, continued to exert exceptional efforts to provide basic and qualitative medical services to citizens.

Al -Ghabbash thanked the South African government for the grant that it will provide to alleviate the effects and repercussions of the earthquake.

 In turn, Gilder stressed his country’s keenness to help the Syrian people, meet the needs of the ministry in the field of pharmaceutical industries.

Gilder indicated that the delegation will visit the governorates of Lattakia and Aleppo to determine the needs of citizens, and to form a clear idea, regarding the provision of aid.
