Dr. Hasan Al-Ghabbash, Minister of Health, appealed to the international community and human rights organizations to stand up to their responsibilities and work to immediately stop the aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, and bring in medical aid immediately.
Al-Ghabbash said, during his participation in a briefing on the escalation of hostilities in the occupied Palestinian territories, held by the World Health Organization’s regional office in Cairo “via Zoom technology: “A safe and sustainable corridor must be opened for the entry of medical aid and medicines immediately and urgently to Gaza Strip.
Al-Ghabbash pointed out that the bombing of health centers, the difficulty of accessing them, and the power outage in Gaza led to failure to provide basic health services, most notably the child vaccination program, endangered the validity of vaccines and threatened with the emergence of diseases that were under control.
Al-Ghabbash pointed out that there are many pregnant women who face difficulty in accessing health care, due to these aggressive attacks on health facilities, which threatens the lives of the mother and the fetus.
The Palestinian, Egyptian and Lebanese health ministers participated in the briefing, in addition to a number of experts from the World Health Organization.
