Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives a Chinese Delegation in Damascus

Minister of Foreign Affairs Asaad Al-Shibani today in Damascus received a Chinese delegation led by the Chinese Ambassador to Syria, Shi Hongwei.

During the meeting, Al-Shibani and the Chinese Ambassador emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between Syria and China in a way that serves both countries and achieves prosperity, progress, and peace for both nations.

Al-Shibani welcomed China’s stance on the repeated Israeli violations in southern Syria and expressed his readiness to enhance cooperation between the two countries in a way that serves the Syrian people’s issues.

The Ambassador also affirmed the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence, to not interfere in the country’s internal affairs and to support Syria in the transitional phase to successfully overcome the current challenges.
