Minister of Electricity, Chinese ambassador in Damascus discuss cooperation in the electricity sector

The Minister of Electricity Ghassan Al-Zamail discussed on Thursday with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Damascus Shi Hongwei means of developing cooperation between Syria and China in the electricity sector.

Al-Zamail thanked China for its supportive stances which contributed to alleviating the repercussions of the economic blockade imposed on the Syrian people and for standing by Syria and providing aid after the earthquake that struck the country last February.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador affirmed his country’s support for the reconstruction of Syria, as there will be more cooperation in this field, pointing out that a strong Syria is a guarantee of regional and international stability.

Shi Hongwei reiterated his country’s rejection of interference in Syria’s internal affairs and of the sanctions imposed on it.
