Minister of Education Discusses Support for Education Sector with UK Minister for the Middle East

Minister of Education Dr. Mohammad Abdulrahman Tarkou discussed with UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Hamish Falkner, ways to support the education sector in Syria and ensure the right to education as a fundamental human right.

 

During an official meeting held on the sidelines of the “Education World Forum EWF ” in the British capital, London, both sides addressed the challenges facing the educational process in Syria due to humanitarian and living conditions, and the importance of enhancing cooperation to ensure that Syrian children have access to education, especially in conflict-affected and displaced areas.

 

Both parties emphasized the necessity of unifying international efforts to support the right to education as a fundamental human right, stressing that education is a tool for communication and building a sustainable future.

 

The meeting, which was attended by the British envoy to Syria, “Anne Snow,” is part of  Syria’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships to contribute to the development of the educational system and expand learning opportunities.
