Minister of Culture, Italian delegation discuss enhancing cultural cooperation 

Minister of Culture Lubanah Mshaweh and a delegation that comprised representatives of the Italian Casapound Party and the European Front for Defending Syria as well as Head of the Syrian Community in Italy discussed during a meeting on Monday a number of cultural issues and prospects of joint cooperation.

Mshaweh stressed the necessity of exchanging experiences as well as musical, artistic, archeological missions to transfer cultural experiences between Syria and Italy with the aim of correcting Syria’s image which the West sought to distort.

The minister appreciated the position of the Italian Casapound Party in support of the Syrian people and their cause, despite the unjust European measures and sanctions imposed on Syria and the ban imposed on every voice that speaks the truth and contradicts its opinion.

In turn, the head of the party Gianluca Iannone reviewed the initiatives presented by the Party and the Front in support for Syria and the Syrian people during the period of war against the country, and talked about the assistance they provided for those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck Syria, overcoming all the difficulties that faced them.

The head of the party indicated the importance of the work of the Italian archeological missions in Syria which highlights the features of civilization there, stressing the party’s readiness to cooperate and support any cultural activities, to set up tourist trips for the Italian students to Syria in order to convey the right image on Syria and correct the lies that were inserted in the minds of the Italians during the unjust war on Syria.

The delegation included party leader GianLuca Iannone, party vice president Andrea Antonini, foreign relations official Giovanni Viola, media official Andrea Bonassa, organizations official Sergio Villaccioni, youth department official Valerio Flacomia and head of the Syrian community in Italy, Dr. Jamal Abu Abbas.
