Minister of Awqaf: The unity of the Syrian people was one of the most important factors in their victory over terrorism

On February 5th, the Minister of Awqaf,(religious endowments) Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Sattar al-Sayyed, affirmed that members of the Syrian community are the best ambassadors for their homeland, with their patriotic stances and Arab affiliation

He underlined that the unity of the Syrian people in all its sects was one of the most important factors in their victory over terrorism. 

During his meeting with the head and members of the board of directors of the Syrian community in Egypt, Minister Al-Sayyed showed his appreciation of  the role of the community in strengthening and developing Syrian-Egyptian relations rooted in history. 

For his part, the head of the Syrian diplomatic mission to Egypt, Ambassador Dr. Bassam Darwish, indicated that Syria was constantly communicating with Syrian businessmen through the embassy and following up on their successes in various fields, including textiles, food and many other sectors. 

Darwish said that the Syrian businessmen in Egypt are closely linked to their homeland, stressing that Syria is victorious through the efforts of its people and is progressing in various fields despite the terrorist war and the siege imposed on it.

In another context, Minister Al-Sayyed met with the Syrian singing groups residing in Egypt at the headquarters of the Syrian diplomatic mission in Cairo

During the meeting, Minister Al-Sayyed affirmed that Syria represents the method of moderation in the Islamic religion

Minister Al-Sayyed said: “Syria supports the moderation of the Islamic religion and spreads it in its own way, in contrast to the dry orientation of Wahhabism and the Brotherhood. They are a religion of violence, and we are a religion of kindness.”

During his visit to Cairo, Minister Al-Sayyed met with Sheikh Dr. Ali Gomaa, head of the Religious Affairs Committee in the Egyptian parliament and a member of the Senior Scholars Authority at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.

Minister Al-Sayed discussed with Sheikh Gomaa the joint efforts in the religious field, the strengthening of religious relations between the two countries and the mechanisms of coordination between the two ancient religious institutions in the two countries

The meeting was attended by members of the Syrian community, Basil Samakieh, head of the community, and a number of Syrian businessmen.
