DAMASCUS, (ST)_ Minister of agriculture Ahmad Qadri said that the Syrian veterinary medicines factories continued production and has been able to cover 90 percent of the local market needs and export its products to 32 Arab and foreign countries.
During a meeting with owners of veterinary medicines factories in Syria, yesterday, Qadri noted the high quality of Syrian product of veterinary medicines, pointing out to the importance of continuing production, improving the performance and developing production in order to serve the country ‘s producers and animal livestock.
He called on the owners of factories to enhance interest in product quality, so as to compete in the domestic and foreign markets, alike and to the need to develop a future vision for the next stage and a methodology for collective action, to be reflected positively on the quality and reputation of the Syrian veterinary medicine.
Owners of the factories talked about difficulties impeding their work, demanding the need to facilitate trading of raw materials, building sophisticated laboratories for the analysis of drugs, eliminating smuggled products that have a negative impact on livestock, improving legislation that serves the production process and domestic product and to facilitate the export of Syrian medicines that achieved popularity at the Arab and international levels.
