Minister of Agriculture and Iraqi participants in the Flower Show discuss expanding trade exchange of various products between Syria and Iraq

The Minister of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform Mohammad Hassan Qatana met with a number of Iraqi and Syrian participants in the International Flower Show.

Qatana pointed out that the Show, this year, witnessed major participation of producers from Arab countries, and presented new varieties of products that were welcomed by visitors.

He noted that the Syrian environment is suitable for the production of various plant varieties that are characterized by high quality, and are abundant and available for export, especially ornamental plants and plantations of all kinds.

Minister Qatana indicated that through the quadilateral agreement between Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon, plant and animal health certificates have been unified, and a platform for displaying products for exports was established in each country, which facilitated the exchange of products between them.

The Iraqi participants stressed the success achieved by the flower show in terms of turn out of visitors and displayed products which promotes it to be a flower festival, noting the leading Syrian experience in the production of all plants that are characterized by their beauty and quality.
