Minister of Agriculture, ACSAD discuss boosting cooperation

Minister of Agriculture in the caretaker government Mohamed Taha Al-Ahmad discussed with Director General of the Arab Center for Studies of Dry Areas and Arid Lands (ACSAD) Nasreddin Obeid prospects of future cooperation between the ministry and the Center in all agricultural activities and projects. During his visit to ACSAD headquarters in Saboura, Damascus Countryside, accompanied by a technical, scientific, and agricultural research delegation, Minister Al-Ahmad learned about the achievements and scientific research being conducted by the Center’s experts in the fields of agriculture and water to achieve sustainable development in Syria and the Arab region. The Minister of Agriculture noted the significant role of ACSAD’s in developing Arab agriculture and achieving sustainable agricultural development and food and water security in the Arab region in the light of the negative impacts of climate change. For his part, Al-Obeid said the Center is ready to boost cooperation and provide everything necessary to advance the agricultural sector in free Syria.
